I didn't start in project management I started on an FPSO.
Working offshore with WTS Energy and Yinson, tracking performance against KPIs and safety standards, maintaining operational logs and risk registers, taught me something that's stayed with me since: good delivery is invisible when it's working, and completely obvious when it isn't. That discipline documentation, risk awareness, accountability under pressure turned out to be the foundation for project management, even though I didn't have the title yet.
I formalised that shift with an MSc in Engineering Management at the University of Chester, graduating with Distinction and finishing in the top 3% of my department. Since then, I've applied that same structured approach across genuinely different environments: a healthcare technology client delivering a patient portal, an NHS health board rolling out a clinical prescribing system, and a national census programme requiring data integrity across an entire country.
I also volunteer as a project support coordinator in Chester, where I've helped move community event planning and record-keeping from paper-based processes to a structured digital system. It's unpaid, but it's real delivery work and it's evidence that the discipline holds up outside a corporate pay cheque too.
I'm based in Chester, UK, PRINCE2 and APM qualified, and currently focused on digital and public sector project delivery with a particular interest in healthcare and NHS environments, and a practical willingness to help smaller organisations that need hands-on project and systems admin support without the overhead of a full-time hire.
